What is a ‘standard’ Rheem 270L Ambiheat Heat Pump install?
– Disconnection of Electrical Service & Water Services to existing Hot
Water System
– Position heat pump on EXISTING (compliant) support base
– Replace & Install the following 15mm valves (IF Valve Kit Selected):
-Tempering Valve Safety device limiting temperature to 50deg
(mandatory by law)
– Isolation Valve (Isolates water to new HWS and prevents backflow)
– Pressure Reduction Valve (Ensures water pressure to the HWS is
limited to 500kpa, this protects the unit and required for warranty
purposes)
– Expansion Control Valve Another valve required by QLD law for over
pressure protection upon heating
– Lag copper water services & valves
– Electrician to reconnect hot water system in accordance to Australian
Standards WITH new isolator
– Ensure PTR & Expansion control valve discharge lines can operate in
accordance with plumbing standards (AS3500)
– Test & commission new heat pump hot water system
– Educate customer on terms of warranty, correct operation of hot water
system valves and the new hot water system
– Dispose of all rubbish and submit Form 4 to QBCC
Not included in a standard install:
- Extension of existing water, discharge drain lines or electrical services
- Relocation of hot water system
- Supply of new support base
- Electrical circuit or circuit board upgrades
- Difficult access or dangerous work requiring two men will incur additional labour costs depending on the site
- Concrete cutting or excavation
- Gas work outside of the scope of work
